About EPR Club
The concept of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is at the centre of the evolution of the European Waste and Resources Policies. In 2014, the European Commission is planning to make the first assessment of the implementation of the Waste Framework Directive. There is also an intention of clarifying the quantitative recycling targets, as well as the possibility to harmonize the use of relevant economic instruments.
EPR represents a powerful tool to increase material recycling. The
public and private operators must promote higher recycling performances
in order to tend to the European Recycling Society. The EPR Club is glad
to provide support of “know-how” on this subject. The EPR Club will
gather different stakeholders (public authorities at all levels, EPR
schemes, waste management companies, material federations, NGOs) and
allow a dialogue on the EU policy developments and technical
implementation of EPR schemes throughout Europe. It will both focus on
existing EPR schemes and future perspectives.
