The European Commission adopted an ambitious Circular Economy Package in order to stimulate Europe’s transition towards a circular economy and to boost global competitiveness, foster sustainable economic growth and generate new jobs. The Package includes revised legislative proposals on waste which sets clear targets for reduction of waste and establishes an ambitious long-term path for waste management and recycling.
The concept of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is at the centre of European Waste and Resources Policies since it represents a powerful tool to increase material recycling and to drivethe transition to a Circular economy.
The EPR Club is glad to provide support of “know-how” on this subject. By gathering different stakeholders (public authorities at all levels, EPR schemes, waste management companies, material federations, NGOs) the EPR Club allows a dialogue on the EU policy developments and technical implementation of EPR schemes throughout Europe. It focuses on both existing EPR schemes and on future perspectives.
